Accessibility
St Andrews Botanic Garden is a safe, welcoming, and peaceful environment and we encourage you to get in touch with us if you require any further information to support you planning your visit. Please contact us on 01334 461 200 or by email at info@standrewsbotanic.org.
Garden Access: We have a wheelchair accessible loop around the Garden (around 1.2km). Most of the surfaces are flat, with a combination of path surfaces including metalled paths and grass. There are plenty of benches and shelters located around the Garden to stop off at and take a rest. Unfortunately, some areas of the Garden, down to the pond, are steep and there are some steps around the Garden.
There is a ramp into the Visitor Centre and Gift Shop and we have an accessible toilet located at the entrance to the Garden, as part of our Visitor Centre. We do not currently have a permanent Changing Places toilet on site, however welcome the Pamiloo mobile Changing Places toilet to events throughout the year.
There is a designated accessible parking space available in our car park. All parking is free of charge for visitors to the Garden.
Wheelchair Hire: We have a wheelchair that is available for visitors to borrow, free of charge. Where possible, please get in touch in advance to reserve this.
Assistance Dogs: Working assistance dogs are welcome in the Garden.
Free Entry For Carers: Carers are welcome to visit the Garden free of charge when accompanying those that they care for. Free carer tickets can be booked online for both Garden Admission and our events.
Growing Together: Free, fully-funded days out for families with children with disabilities and additional support needs – enjoy time together as a family with accessible outdoor activities! Head to our What’s On section to see upcoming events.
