Values
The nature of our work demands a passion for the natural world and a commitment to making a difference: there are many ways to do this and we welcome all. We recognise the inequalities faced by many people and through our conservation, research and engagement we are working to overcome them where we can. We value honesty, dedication, curiosity and empathy, and these values run through all of our work.
We try to use the Botanic Garden as an exemplar for the change we would like to see, whether through taking radical steps to reduce our carbon footprint, provide access to the Herbarium, improve accessibility throughout the Garden, share sustainable land management practices, or support the innovation in benefit sharing and equitable access for the exchange of genetic materials.
